The downstairs part of Atlas was situated behind the engineers' workshops and was normally only accessible to the engineers and senior operations staff. The diagram below shows the layout of the bays and which bays still exist.

This shows part of the downstairs area at Chilton. The operators console is shown to the left. The arithmetic unit and B-Registers are shown behind. Normally the doors would be closed on the cabinets.
